16:15        “Soft skills - building your business ideas, best practice, marketing and engaging with clients”, Kerry Clayton, Rathbones"

Kerry is Vice Chair of ACIE and a Director of Rathbones Trust Company.    Kerry's passion for providing charity services grew from working with trustees whilst at Rathbones, where she has been for c25 years.  Kerry and the team have a wealth of experience enabling them to provide trust taxation, Inheritance Tax planning and compliance, personal tax, probate, accountancy and administration services for all types of trust funds, including acting in the role of professional Trustee.  Kerry learned how fulfilling working for and with charities could be and this drove her to build an area of specialism within the Trust Company, providing all charity structures with a range of services, including advising on best practice and governance, preparing accounts and undertaking Independent Examinations.

As Kerry's career evolved, having to balance client needs with efficient and commercial business practice became a natural priority.  These areas, together with understanding the increasing and evolving pressures we all face from regulators and the financial climate, both as a charity trustee, herself, and as a Director, have resulted in the undeniable need for us all to identify our own value, efficient practice and commerciality.  Kerry will be pleased to share her experiences and make suggestions to you during this session.
