Recovering from Covid, financial implications

and ways to support small charities through Independent Examination.

2022 is presenting new challenges. Covid is still with us, and we are once more meeting with you on line.

This year’s conference aims to reach all parts of the UK during these continued challenging times. The content includes areas to assist Examiners with their work whilst also recognising charities may be turning to Examiners, as an advisor, for help on other related matters.  We hope the topics provide you with additional insight to enhance the work you do for the benefit of Examiners and charities alike.

We will have updates from the OSCR, on the Charities Act 2022, and for the first time, from the Charity Commission, Northern Ireland.

The conference this year will consist of a series of 20 minute talks with 10 minute Q&As.

Speakers also include Margaret Birse, of Tangram Accounting (Fraud); Elaine Crichton of Inspiring Scotland (on accounting issues facing small charities); Tamara Hibberly of VAT People, Ian Allsop (columnist for Charity Finance) and Stephen Hendy of Data Developments discussing a software project to support and engage small charities with Independent Examination.

There will be opportunities to network, and we are also providing attendees with the opportunity to put questions to a panel of specialists.  All questions must be submitted in advance of the Conference to ensure you are provided with the most helpful and informative responses.  The event will end with a networking session, where delegates can meet with other members, to find out what’s happening in their region.
