The course will be run through Zoom using a mixture of informal ‘lecture’ style & workshop sessions with plenty of opportunity for exchange of ideas and experience.

Prior to the course at 9.30 there will be a 15 min optional session covering the online tools and techniques we will be using to familiarise any participants who are unused to online meetings.

Nb: there are only 8 places on each session, and not as the ticketing system indicates, 32.

Building your Independent Examination skills – with the help of the ACIE workbook

This course uses a case study, exercises and brings in your experience covering key areas of concern in Independent Examination:

  • Materiality and risk
  • Adequacy of records
  • Vouching & analytical review
  • Qualification of reports

We will look at these alongside the ACIE workbook so you see how it can support your IE practice.  We are aiming to build your confidence in how you are working.

You’ll get most out of the session if you do the small amount of pre-work requested – familiarising yourself with the case study and sending in any burning questions you would like to address during the session.

This course is for people with knowledge of charity accounting who are new to or have some experience of independent examinations and are looking to develop their practice.

The course is open to members and non-members.
