This is a chance to update on best practice in Independent Examination.

Michael Brougham retired in 2008 after 41 years in banking. He had been a fellow of ACIE since 2010, and is an independent examiner for around 30 charities nationally, mainly, but not all in Scotland. He currently serves as a charity accounts/governance adviser and trainer for smaller charities and is a regular speaker at ACIE conferences and other charity finance and governance events. He has been a member of the SORP Committee since 2014 and is the author of ACIE’s Independent Examination Workbook. He is currently writing a book on the independent examination of charity accounts for trustees and examiners.
