This will be a workshop which focusses on the technical detail of accounting entry and the different requirements of charity accounting.

Workshop Leader: Margaret Birse

Margaret Birse is a Fellow of ACIE, is a Charity Adviser and Independent Examiner running a business advising charities for around 10 years. Prior to that, Margaret was employed in the Charity Sector and has volunteered in charities almost all of her adult life. Originally trained as a scientist, and lecturer, Margaret now has a Postgraduate qualification in Charity Finance and Accountancy, which together with her practical experience of volunteering, employment, management as a trustee and now advising charities, puts her in a unique position of seeing charity finance from a variety of different viewpoints. In addition to her advisory and Independent Examination roles Margaret has been part of the Membership and Training Committees for ACIE and is currently treasurer of two charities and chair of the Scottish Charity Finance Group.
